SIO do regularly

Weekly meetings held regularly in thousands of its units spread throughout the country are a unique feature of SIO On Goings. Students gathered in every unit benefit from discussions on various contemporary issues, educational matters, political and philosophical topics as well as they plan their future works and analyses previous On Goings.

Nizamul Usra held under the supervision of SIO members every day is a dynamic activity to look into the self of everybody. They study according to their requirements and tries to know each other well.

Monthly cadre meets at local units provide every worker a chance to analyse himself and to think over the organizational On Goings.

Bimonthly students meet at every unit provide the participants to debate over various faiths and understandings and thus helping in creating an accommodative culture among different believers.

Educational awareness programs are the inevitable part of SIO agenda every year. Surveys in selected colonies followed by enrollment in schools, other educational assistances like scholarships, book banks, libraries, reading rooms, study circles, guidance for better academic future, hostels, coaching classes etc are also carried out. Students’ issues are not mere topics of organizational interest for SIO. Rather, the organization looks into every issue fundamentally and tries to create awareness on it among general and thus to solve them in a creative manner. SIO on a mission for PEACE

In Delhi’s Okhla section, along the Yamuna barrage where inconsistent strips of hardware shops and motor garages make most of the mangled neighbourhood, the SIO headquarters sit in a yellow-green multi-storeyed building. Entering rooms on all floors yields varied activity—pamphleteering, printing, editorials, seminars, film screenings, active Web surfing, emails and collective prayers for congregation of students. This is where SIO’s faith and aspirations get translated into souvenirs and journals, covering a range of contemporary issues—from the educational policies of the World Bank to privatization in education and curriculum changes. Gandhian principles of peace and Ambedkar’s thoughts on social justice form a recurrent motif in seminars, where discussions open and close with observations on the collapse of the agriculture-based economy and use of technology for the spread of Islam.
